Our blog is dedicated to seasonal living: cooking with local produce (sometimes our own), sewing for the home and searching out vintage bargains.

We believe that most of the pleasure is in the journey - in the making and creating, even if in a simple way.

The Lakes

We've been so fortunate with the weather for our weekend in the Lake District...I've not been on the Keswick launch before without need for a jacket (and hat and scarf!)

The views were superb...the fells so clear against blue skies.

And no mud to speak of...you can see from this photo how dry everywhere looked.

Best of all at this time of year though, a host of golden daffodils.

  1. I'm so pleased the weather was kind to you. I've never actually been to the Lakes when it wasn't raining! But that never spoiled my pleasure.

It's so lovely to be enjoying such lovely springtime weather, everything seems to sparkle in the sunshine. It just makes you feel wonderful doesn't it?

  2. i love the Lake District, so much so, we got married there in Glenridding :) we go back to a different part nearly every year! this year it's going to be The Langdales xx

  3. Beautiful view of the fells. It is many years since I was last in the Lake District in spring, but I have vivid memories of the daffodils.

  4. Terrific photos of a lovely place, which I've not visited for far too long! Flighty xx
